FIERY SAGITTARIUS asks us to answer the call of yearning within. Symbolized by the centaur- horse on bottom and human on top- we can tap into discernment to direct Sagittarius’s arrow and run towards what we desire to explore. This is a season to tap into adventure and spontaneity. Hope and optimism help to pick us up again if we slide into Sag’s shadows aspects of impulsivity or burnout. What do you seek to discover? HYENA: If you chose hyena today, you are called to lighten your load and check your ego. When our ego is running the show from a place of fear, life can feel so serious. Can you lean into your clan for a good cackle when it all feels too much? There is strength in numbers for you at this time.
Hyena may be calling you to see your role in the bigger picture. On the surface, hyenas are scavengers and have a vulture-like quality, eating whatever they can find that’s been left behind after other animals have had their fill. But hyenas play an important role in biodiversity and help prevent decay from contaminating the environment. Others may not see your true colors, but at the end of the day what matters most is who you see in your reflection peering back at you from the watering hole. Don’t let peer pressure from the clan pull you out of your center of integrity.
If you’re called to hyena, now is not the time for bold moves. However, if Sagittarius’s arrow has directed you to leave your current clan and join another to find your perfect match, trust that your efforts will be fruitful in the end. Attempting to find your place in community can feel a bit like hazing. Male hyenas go through a period of hazing and must display submissive behavior when they join a new clan in pursuit of a mate to prove they’re deserving of the prize.
If you identify as female, hyena is reminding you that YOU are the prize. It is time to embrace leadership in your life. Stop playing small and open to receiving when Sag’s arrow lands at your feet. Allow your clan to provide for your needs, as your worth is not dependent on sacrifice for others.
All roles are essential to survival of the clan, and Hyena wants you to assess your ego. Is it so excessive that a little sacrifice may be the medicine you need? Or could it use a boost by stepping into your bright light as royalty in your clan? Don’t be deceived if you find yourself stepping down in rank, because the hyenas have some of the most powerful jaws in the animal kingdom and know when to use them to deter predators when they are owed what they’ve earned.
FLYING FISH is here to inspire your imagination and remind you that you can achieve what others may say is impossible. The fish isn’t anatomically built to fly, but flying fish are able to create the illusion because of their ability to glide. You may need to apply creativity and inventiveness to navigate changes in your life at this time. The phrase “fake it ‘til you make” it can come in handy when others aren’t quite on board with your next steps.
Your school of fellow fish may need some cajoling, proof, or convincing…but you got this! If you’re lacking in inspiration or motivation to take your next leap, allow yourself to swim in your e-motions of the ocean. The term “emotion” contains “motion,” and literally implies that our feelings are constantly ebbing and flowing. If any of your energy is stuck in stagnant waters from the past that no longer serve you, you won’t have the life force energy required to gain enough momentum and speed to launch yourself to high heights.
You may need to dive into the depths of Scorpio’s ocean to find any shadows lurking from Scorpio season that didn’t make it up to the shores of your consciousness. Take some time to let any old stories, wounds, or words left unsaid in your relationships come to a place of closure.
The Flying Fish knows how to utilize all his resources in order to propel himself through the sky for hundreds of feet. They streamline their long bodies and large pectoral wings to gain such high speeds that they defy gravity. Let the sun and moon light your way high above the watery depths of fear, doubt, and making yourself small.
You are inspired and inspiring to those around you when you can resource confidence and optimism within. You have a gift of perspective to offer to those around you. Flying Fish offers medicine of seeing all perspectives and sharing your view with others who may not have the diversity of scenic experience that you do.
HORSE gifts you with shift of perspective and focus. The symbol for Sagittarius is the centaur – horse on bottom and human on top. In mythology the centaur is a learned healer who bridges the connection between heaven and earth. Horses are highly intelligent with quick reflexes. You’re being asked to tap into your emotional intelligence, so you’re prepared to pivot once you start galloping at high speeds towards your next endeavor.
Foals start walking and running within hours after they’re born. You may be ready to “hit the ground running” this season. However, horse asks, “Are you chasing your dreams, or running towards them?” Your perspective is important and can impact your energy levels. Horse sees almost 360 degrees and urges you to focus and gain clarity before pursuing the race. Are you a work horse? A therapy horse? A show horse? You can be many things, but trying to be them all will surely exhaust you.
Horse can sleep standing up, which served him well in territory where fight-or-flight could save his life. But remember, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Your strength, coupled with expansive vison and work ethic will aim you towards Sagittarius’s target, but make sure you take the proper steps before releasing your arrow.
